Tulalip Tribes - Behavioral Health

The Tulalip Tribes are federally recognized successors in interest to the Snohomish, Snoqualmie, Skykomish, and other allied tribes and bands signatory to the Treaty of Point Elliott. The 22,000 acre Tulalip Indian Reservation is located north of Everett and the Snohomish River, and west of Marysville, Washington. The Tribes maintain an aggressive environmental preservation program, both on and off of the reservation to complement the Snohomish region’s natural resources. The economic development zone along the I-5 corridor provides revenue and services for the region. Tulalip provides health, human services, housing, utilities, technology services, education, recreation, entertainment, cultural, and historical activities. The Tribes have over 4,300 members, with half of the members living on the reservation. The Tulalip Tribes government provides a number of services to its tribal and community members such as health care, housing, education, public works, court system, police department, and many other services.

Video Transcript: Working for Tulalip Tribes Behavioral Health is such a gratifying feeling. I’m so excited when I see someone come in with their head up high, and see them find their own empowerment and blossom – to see the strong, beautiful individual that they are. I mean I’m even having goosebumps just even thinking about that right now. One of the best parts of this job is when a child or a parent returns after being done with therapy for a while and says thank you guys, you made a difference in my life. Tulalip wants its therapists to have the best tools possible when treating and working with their children and their families, and they provide many opportunities for us to get training, to study our areas of interest, and to bring those skill sets back and use them in a good way. Tulalip is very supportive in my career growth here and they’ve been supportive in any time off I’ve needed, paying for my training, paying for certificates and my licensure. That’s a big deal in this industry. In my team we’re all very close, we’re all there to pick each other up and to lean on one another and to consult with one another. The team that I work with have chosen to be here. They value the work in this community and their relationships. They value the comradery and the closeness that we develop as we consult with one another. The Tulalip Tribes offers an excellent benefits program, for your medical and your dental. That really made me feel good that Tulalip’s looking after me and taking care of me. I would say that someone who wants to work with Tulalip Tribes, if you have a passion to work with this community, this is a place that you can come and make a lasting difference.
